As an artist since 2008, I thought it would be interesting to share with you my artistic evolution over the years. I look back at the beginning of my career with tenderness, affection and remember how much this profession has transformed me.

2020...

MARIA ROSA'S ARTWORKS

Often, the strong moments of our lives are accompanied by flowers.

I remember the first bouquet my lover gave me.

I remember the first death of one of my grandparents. Beautiful flowers that unfortunately fade with time.

I remember the flowers I gave to my husband to tell him the sex of our second child.

I remember the flowers from my wedding.

I remember flowers given for Mother's Day.

I remember flowers given to me for my birthday.

I remember a beautiful bouquet I was given at my first exhibition in Finland.

And then it clicked,

As I was working with organic materials in the previous collection, I had this obvious idea to stop letting flowers wither.

Allowing people to immortalize a memory full of history, accompanying people in the strong moments of their life is a privilege for me.

ALIVE ARTWORKS

My life as an expatriate in Finland has opened doors for me regarding future materials used. My daily life in harmony with the environment will influence my creative process. Reducing my ecological footprint in my professional life will be a great challenge.

I go in search of organic materials and sublimate them in an environmentally friendly resin.

ARTWORKS WITH BONES

This is a dormant project that is finally coming to life.

In contact with death in recent years, I ask myself many questions.

Why do we bury the dead? Why are the bones so gloomy? Why is this subject taboo?

In short, after a few years of taming the bones I was offered, my vision has totally changed.

I see life in them and want to show people that bones are a work of art in themselves.

I believe that we would be much more accepting of death if we were with it.

POSTPARTUM ARTWORKS

Back in full force after my first pregnancy, I'm putting my Cartesian side on hold to make room for curves.

We find snake moult, jewelry pieces, fur, semi-precious stones, brass, zinc, gold, sterling silver, soot, ecological resin... all in an organic atmosphere.

The paintings look more like jewelry than paintings.

ARTWORKS ON WOOD

I have acquired certain knowledge and skills through crafts.

Jewelry making, for the integration of metals and semi-precious stones.

Learning to blow glass with a flashlight personalizes my artworks by adding a small piece of moretti  glass that I call my "little worlds".

REVELATION

At this time, my style is well defined.

The line becomes my new challenge.

Wanting to place meticulously in boxes, creating a balance.

I am interested in the psychology of spatial vision to guide me in the realization of my artworks.

2012-2013 COLLECTION

Wanting to deepen my technique, I focus on thoroughness and consistency.

The lines are neater, better defined and the repeated acrylic dots are aligned.

I add a lot of details while keeping a clean look.

2011 COLLECTION

Related to the revelation period is the transformation from figurative to completely abstract art.

Almost all of them have a black background and you can see that a frame has been established. The silver pigment is omnipresent.

I am taming the freehand painted line.

TRANSITION

This is the period where I transfer my passion for drawing into painting.

I decide to devote myself to it full time by putting aside my studies in psychology which will be beneficial in my creative process.
